Adopt

Thank you for considering opening your heart and home by adopting! Adoption gives these animals a second chance, and they deserve an opportunity to love and be loved.

If you haven’t browsed our adoptable animals, please have a look. You can also check for updated lists at www.facebook.com/globalanimallovers. Come back here and fill out the application when you’ve found an animal you’re interested in! A GALS volunteer will contact you (usually within a few days) to discuss your application.

Once your application is reviewed and references are checked, we will arrange for a meeting between you and the adoptable animal. We may request this visit to be at your home to make sure this is the ‘right fit’. Please note upon adoption, an adoption contract and payment of the applicable adoption fee is required by cash or email transfer.

Please note, we reserve the right to decline your application for any reason we feel will not match with the needs of our animals.

Adoptions are not accepted on a first come, first served basis.

We will match our animals with the most appropriate fit, therefore if there is more than one person interested in the same animal please understand that it may be that you are a good adoptive family, but not the best match for that specific animal.

If you are adopting a puppy or kitten that has not had full vaccinations, please be sure to become knowledgeable about keeping your new addition safe from communicable diseases such parvovirus in puppies, and feline leukemia as examples.

Vaccinations/Deworming:
GALS does core vaccinations due while in our care. GALS does not vaccinate for Bordetella (kennel cough). Dogs and cats over 6 months old are vaccinated for rabies. The adoptive family is responsible for any additional vaccinations and continued deworming that come due after the adoption is completed, which can include on-going treatment for minor ailments such as worms.

Spay/Neuter Policy:
All of our animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption; this cost is included in our adoption fee. In cases when adoptive families take their new animal home within a week after spay/neuter surgery, we ask that they be exercised on leash only, and kept relatively calm for a period of 7 days after surgery, to aid the healing process. The surgical incision should also be checked daily during this time, to be sure it is healing well.

Return Policy:
We at GALS believe that each animal is special and considered to be a part of the GALS family. Should you have any issues or concerns, please feel free to contact us for advice and guidance. If animals adopted from GALS must be given up; you agree upon adoption to return the animal to GALS.

Gifts:
We do not adopt animals as gifts for someone else.

Renters:
All renters must have written permission from their landlord prior to an animal going home.

Adoption fees:
Adoption fees are used at GALS to cover the costs of care and medical attention of your new adoptive animal while in our care.
*All adoption fees are non-refundable.*
Cash payment can be made to the foster home. Payment can also be made by email money transfer, or by Visa and MasterCard through Paypal (please add on service fee charged by Paypal). Bank and Paypal Transfers are to be made to info@globalanimallovers.com and please remember to let us know the password you choose if we require one to deposit funds.

Barn Cats By Donation

Onward to the Adoption Form! Once submitted, A GALS representative will contact you in a couple days. Please remember we are all volunteering our time!

GALS Barn Buddies program is designed to help find suitable homes for the area’s feral (wild) and semi-feral cat populations. We are looking for cat lovers who have barns or other secure outdoor structures (horse stables, warehouse, or other suitable locations) and are interested in adopting cats that are not suitable for life inside a house.  We have healthy cats all spayed/neutered, all vaccinations up to date, and de-wormed.

Semi-Feral cats must be adopted in pairs/small groups so the move will be less traumatic and adjustment to their new home will be easier with the security of one or more trusted companions.   After a short period of 10-14 days of secure confinement, the cats will accept their new home.  Adoption fees are waived for these deserving cats, although donations towards their vetting and care is very much appreciated!

If you have a safe, warm barn or outdoor location and would like to adopt barn cats, please contact us!
